Sr. Network Engineer

Our client is a large, member-focused financial services cooperative serving Southern California, offering comprehensive financial services across many branches. The organization provides broad access to ATMs and digital banking services.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $80.00 to $100.00/hr. w2

• Design and develop networking, security, and communication systems with attention to performance.
• Respond promptly and professionally to production problems across supported systems and applications.
• Conduct system analysis and configuration to keep systems current with changing technologies.
• Analyze, design, coordinate, and supervise deployments of network and telecommunications systems.
• Translate system requirements into task specifications for IT staff.
• Diagnose performance issues, troubleshoot problems, and design solutions for communication and networking challenges.
• Configure, edit, and troubleshoot new systems and configurations to ensure secure data throughput.
• Document designs, installation instructions, support procedures, and configuration changes consistently.
• Utilize testing and measuring instruments and other tools to perform essential networking, security, and telecom functions.
• Maintain positive interactions with internal and external clients.
• Research and recommend network management and support tools.
• Assist testers and support personnel to determine system problems.
• Review environmental changes that may affect communications performance and propose adjustments.
• Provide recommendations to senior management on network topology, security settings, and telecom performance.
• Prepare reports and correspondence, communicate technical information, make presentations, and develop procedures.
• Collaborate with networking and server support staff and interact with managers and senior management.

• Six to eight years of experience in network, security, telecom, or IT systems development.
• Strong working knowledge of EIGRP, F5, Palo Alto, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, VPN, IDS, IPS, TACACS, and RSA.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
• Understanding of distributed networking concepts including software defined networks and CCaaS.
• Solid knowledge of routing principles, firewalls, and phone system configuration and programming.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
• Experience contributing to long-range planning for new projects and environments.
• Experience teaching or instructing co-workers and providing advice, training, and technical support.
• Experience evaluating current systems and making decisions on future networking and telecom processes.
• Ability to rapidly learn and integrate new technologies.
• Expert knowledge of networking, security protocols, and telecommunications deployments.
• Ability to determine root causes across hardware, OS, application, or network layers.
• Good knowledge of data security and encryption.
• Experience with documentation, configuration drawings, network management tools, and standard productivity tools.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, MCSE, or security certifications (preferred).
