WHO YOU ARE

The IT Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that streamline IT operations, improve reliability, and enable self‑service capabilities across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments. This role will focus on infrastructure‑as‑code, automated remediation (self‑healing), and provisioning processes that enforce organizational standards while empowering other teams through secure automation portals and workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL DO Automation & Scripting

Develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts using Power Shell, Ansible, Python, and Bash for both Windows and Linux systems. Build Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment of automation workflows and scripts. Design and implement reusable automation modules for provisioning, patching, service restarts, and configuration compliance.

Self‑Healing & Monitoring Integration

Collaborate with the monitoring and NOC teams to design automated response playbooks that remediate common alerts and incidents. Integrate monitoring tools (Manage Engine Ops Manager, Zabbix, or custom scripts) with automation platforms for self‑healing actions such as restarting services, cleaning queues, or scaling resources. Maintain audit trails and reporting for automated actions to ensure transparency and compliance.

Infrastructure & Cloud Automation

Develop automation to enforce infrastructure standards when deploying servers and applications across AWS and on‑prem environments. Use Ansible and Power Shell DSC to ensure consistent system configuration and compliance. Create provisioning workflows to automatically tag, secure, and configure new systems to align with corporate policies.

Web Portals & Self‑Service

Develop and maintain web‑based self‑service portals (using Jenkins, Power Shell Universal Dashboard, or equivalent frameworks) for administrative tasks such as user creation, server provisioning, and system maintenance. Provide secure, role‑based access controls to allow IT and business teams to safely perform pre‑approved tasks. Automate approval workflows and integrate with Jira or Service Now where applicable.

Collaboration & Documentation

Partner with cross‑functional teams including Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and Dev Ops to identify automation opportunities. Maintain detailed documentation of scripts, workflows, and architectural decisions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation governance, version control, and testing practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in systems administration or automation engineering.
  • Strong proficiency with Power Shell and Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Solid understanding of Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD orchestration.
  • Experience managing automation across Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Experience with AWS automation (Cloud Formation, boto3, AWS CLI, or Terraform) to enforce consistent provisioning.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and integrating automation with third‑party systems.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Entra , and enterprise authentication models.
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Security‑minded with focus on least‑privilege automation.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
BONUS POINTS
  • Experience with Service Now, Jira, or similar workflow integration.
  • Experience developing Power Shell Universal Dashboard, Flask, or other lightweight web UI tools for self‑service.
  • Exposure to Python or Go for automation scripting.
  • Knowledge of Ops Manager, Nagios, or other alerting systems.
  • Experience in ITIL‑based environments with automation‑driven change and incident management.
