Position Overview
The
Account Manager plays a key client-facing role supporting client projects from conceptualization through to final determination. This position requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple client perspectives simultaneously, meeting critical and sensitive deadlines, as well as thoughtful customer service. This is a dynamic position that requires a multi-faceted candidate who is eager to learn, grow, and develop multiple subject areas of expertise.
- Serve as the secondary, or potentially primary, point of contact for assigned clients and/or projects
- Manage action items, schedules, deliverables, and administrative frameworks
- Prepare, review, and/or revise critical project materials such as staff reports, presentation decks, strategic plans, entitlement schedules, planning/building applications, permit extensions, etc.
- Coordinate project details with municipal/agency staff, private developers, clients, sub-consultants and other consultants, and more
- Develop and deploy public engagement plans that include stakeholder meetings, participant tracking, and follow up mechanisms
- Support CP&A with proposal writing, client reporting, business development, and more
- Augment client/firm marketing efforts through a keen eye for design and action-oriented strategic communications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or related field
- 2+ years of professional experience in planning, land use, client development, community engagement, public affairs, and/or related field
- Familiarity with California entitlement processes, CEQA, applicable housing legislation, local government processes and protocols, and more
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on non-AI reliance
- Strong client service orientation and project management experience
- A team player that also thrives independently
- Base Wage: $75,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience and eligible for adjustment after probationary period)
- Commission: Eligible for commission (details to be discussed)
