Job DescriptionThe Senior Specialist, Program Management function provides support to Program and Portfolio managers with program tasks or managing follow‑on production programs and new development programs. This program management role provides direction and Integrated Program Teams for the company and is also responsible for accomplishing program objectives by supporting the planning and assisting with the evaluation of program activities such as schedule review, production hardware tracking, and leading weekly IPT meetings.
The role will require interactions with all core team members, including engineering, quality, supply chain management, operations, program finance, and contracts. Responsibilities include program budgets, cost reporting, coordination of resources, and customer interface under minimal supervision. The Senior Specialist will take a lead role in the execution of specific programs as defined by their manager. We are seeking a highly motivated, solution‑oriented, and results‑driven individual.
Functions
- Direct all phases of programs assigned from inception through completion.
- Drive program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
- Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Expand the product line with the customer; establish milestones, monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program problems and implement solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years of prior related experience and/or strong directly relevant sustainment experience with proven performance with DOD or USN customers.
- Production/Manufacturing program management experience.
- Program cost management and cost account management experience.
- Manufacturing operations experience.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen.
- EVMS experience.
- Highly motivated, solution‑oriented, and results‑driven individual.
- Proven project/program management performance with DOD or USN customers.
- Microsoft Office – proficiency.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams:
- Set clear goals.
- Drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates aptitude in the following areas:
- General knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements.
- Government DPAS‑rated contracts.
- Project management, production projects.
- Program scheduling.
