We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the AR function. This role will replace a long‑standing team member and requires someone adaptable, flexible, and comfortable operating in a company undergoing active change and growth. The A/R Manager will manage billing, cash application, collections, reserve management, customer deposits, and GL reconciliation, while leading and developing a small team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 2 AR specialists plus 1 temporary staff member
  • Establish and improve AR policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Provide training and guidance to internal departments as needed
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service‑oriented team culture
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders across multiple locations
  • Oversee day‑to‑day AR operations including
    • Cash posting and application
    • Collections
    • Credit card portal activity
    • Manage and reconcile customer deposits and ensure accurate GL posting
    • Oversee refunds, credits, unapplied payments, and account reconciliations
    • Ensure timely and accurate booking of AR transactions to the general ledger
  • Partner with Billing to ensure invoice accuracy and process alignment
  • Manage company reserves, reporting, and related analysis
  • Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end AR close processes
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare documentation and schedules to support internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve collections performance
  • Reduce DSO and minimize outstanding receivables
  • Oversee collection efforts while maintaining positive client relationships
  • Build strong external client relationships and respond promptly to inquiries
  • Research and resolve complex account discrepancies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and GL experience
