Job Description

As a Director of Consulting, you will play a pivotal leadership role, overseeing client project delivery, fostering talent development, and supporting sales and pre‑sales efforts. You will be instrumental in driving the success of our consulting practice and professional services business, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction and Rockwell Automation growth.

In this senior leadership role, you will provide strategic oversight across multiple Rockwell Automation professional services and client projects. You will also lead and mentor our teams, and collaborate with sales to drive business growth. You will report to the Principal – Kalypso and work remotely from any location in the United States.

Your Responsibilities
  • Business Development:
    • Partner with the sales team to support business development efforts, including leading and developing proposals, participating in client pitches, and shaping go‑to‑market strategies.
    • Leverage deep industry expertise to identify new opportunities for growth and expansion.
    • Identify and lead opportunities that convert consulting projects to pull through other Rockwell Hardware, Software and Services orders.
  • Consulting Services Delivery:
    • Provide executive oversight on multiple client engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and exceed client expectations.
    • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, providing insights and guidance to help them achieve their business goals.
  • Capability Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consulting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous growth, collaboration, and excellence.
    • Design and implement service line and professional development programs to build and enhance the capabilities and skills of the team.
The Essentials - You Will Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • This role may require significant travel, depending on client needs and project demands. Travel can vary but may be up to 80%.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
  • 10+ years of consulting experience, with time spent in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large‑scale projects that drive business results.
  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on automation and controls.
  • Proven expertise in process control systems, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.
  • Deep understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with asset management and predictive/preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of OT data management, including data historians, edge computing, and integration with IT systems.
  • Familiarity with ISA‑95 and ISA‑88 standards for manufacturing systems integration.
  • Experience working in regulated or high‑compliance environments (e.g., food & beverage, pharma, mining, or heavy industry).

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $271,600 – $407,400 with an annual target bonus of 25% of base salary. Our benefits for the U.S. can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience. n!
