Walnut Village Retirement Community is Hiring! Director of Sales and Marketing

Full Time: Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends
Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 annually, plus bonus potential

Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing and Sales is responsible for the sales, marketing and public relations program for the community and achieving budgeted occupancy.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Provide quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage all aspects of the Sales and Marketing Department, including budget and processing invoices.
  • Maintain focus on achieving 100% occupancy at all times.
  • Maintain accommodation inventory, track fee changes in accordance with the community budget/strategic plan.
  • Oversee FY planning, ensuring plan in place and executed.
  • Initiate and oversee creation of updated guestrooms.
  • Maintain contact tracking database, checking month-end figures and ensuring complete, consistent data entered in Dynamics.
  • Assist with overall responsibility for event planning and marketing plans, responding to inquiry calls, touring, processing applications, interacting with prospects and current residents.
  • Manage and assist all members of the department.
  • Responsible for community outreach, local competitive market analysis, annual sales and marketing plan, external strategies and market rates.
  • Regularly review market rates with Executive Director to maintain competitiveness.
  • Provide direction, oversight and action to complete the sales process.
  • Initiate team building and goal setting, ensuring an environment of positive teamwork and trust.
  • Work closely with Environmental Services and Maintenance departments as accommodations get prepared for new residents.
  • Walk through the community, checking cleanliness and reporting all repair and housekeeping issues.
  • Responsible for meeting established sales goals and achieving 100% occupancy by developing “out of the box” sales strategies and models.
  • Evaluate customer needs and build productive, trustworthy relationships.
  • Source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve monthly and annual goals.
  • Play a key role in increasing income and revenue for the community.
  • Negotiate with prospects, generate leads and qualify prospects.
  • Manage sales and provide move-in coordination.
  • Complete home visits and encourage creation of follow-up strategy with the sales team.
  • Attend and participate in the weekly and/or monthly committee and staff meetings assigned by Executive Director.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include supervising Sales and Marketing staff, interviewing, accepting and training volunteers; planning, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Follow and ensure department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques, participate in campus-wide safety programs. Perform all duties safely and efficiently, wear PPE as required, report hazards and incidents.
  • All employees required to follow safe work habits to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors, or other employees.
Essential Education with Equivalent Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
Experience With Equivalent Qualifications
  • 2+ Years experience in real estate, public relations, marketing/sales
  • Previous experience in Assisted Living, Independent Senior Living and Memory Care strongly preferred
