Hours:
Monday to Friday, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
The Flexo Press Operator is a skilled technician whose role is to ensure that customers' labels are produced correctly, efficiently and at the highest level of quality. The press operator is a key part of the production team and works cooperatively with others to ensure that our customers' label specifications are met. The Flexo Press Operator will troubleshoot problems within the printing process, including operation of the machinery, throughput of paper, color adjustment and alignment issues, as well as finishing processes.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of all aspects of printing and its associated processes and materials in order to recognize problems and correct them.
- Produces high quality labels as specified on the label order docket
- Communicates job specific information or changes to their supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
- Produces labels that match customer signed proofs and color standards
- Load stock and appropriate ink
- Help monitor levels of supplies and ensure that adequate stocks are maintained
- Complete scheduled operator driven maintenance
- Troubleshoot and correct problems during the print job as they arise
- Communicates any issues that may affect production to their supervisor
- Completes an accurate and detailed job profile after every job
- Returns job materials to correct location on completion of job
- Keeps co-workers informed of important job information that may affect their work
- Always keeps work area tidy, clean and organized
- Correctly completes routine operator level maintenance to their trained level of competence
- Being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations
- Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
- Reasonable amount of overtime is needed
- At least 5 years' experience as a press operator
- Strong visual inspection skills to be able to detect quality defects and ensure color consistency and print registration.
- Knowledge and experience with color‑matching systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stay on schedule in a fast‑paced environment
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Basic math skills required
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs is required
- Standing for extended period of time
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
