Position: Cable & Harness Assembler-2nd Shift- (3:00 pm to 12:30 am)

Overview

The Cristek group is seeking a talented team player to join our team at our Anaheim, CA facility. The successful candidate is committed to pushing the boundaries of interconnect technology performance and innovation. Position

The Cable & Harness Assembler position will play a key role within a team that will work together to assemble our customer’s product. The ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment and in conjunction with meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements is critical to this position.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as cables and harnesses.
  • Learn to use basic hand tools, cutters, wire strippers, hand crimpers, scissors, soldering iron, heat gun.
  • Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Read and understand customer drawings, parts lists, wire lists, specifications, and assembly routers for step-by-step instructions to manufacture wire harness and cable assemblies.
  • Produce wire harness and cable assemblies using hand and/or power tools (including specialized crimpers, drills, soldering tools, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, wire strippers, precision measuring instruments, etc.).
  • Perform daily cable and harness techniques (wire cutting, cable prep and layup, connectorization, crimping, soldering, jacketing, braiding, molding, lacing tape, and spot ties for open wire bundles, testing, etc.).
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
  • Conduct in-process inspections on product in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Test and troubleshoot subassemblies at 1st, 2nd, and final test stages.
  • Use Microsoft Access to check-out and check-in tools used during production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to correct and improve documents related to the assembly process.
  • Perform a number of complex, sometimes repetitive, electro-mechanical assembly operations of wire harnessing parts, components, and subassemblies.
  • Follow health and safety rules and use provided safety equipment.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing environment
  • Electro-Mechanical assembly experience
  • Strong crimping, connectorization and soldering skills
  • J-STD Certification is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work under a microscope for inspection purposes
Required Skills & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to pass Manual Dexterity requirements (handling small parts, fine motor skills, dexterity with tweezers, small pliers, and parts with speed and precision)
  • Must possess sufficient hand and upper body strength and gross motor skills to route cable bundles of various sizes and weights
  • Must be able to demonstrate Technical Literacy (ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, BOMs and blueprints or demonstrate the ability to learn this process)
  • Must follow strong safety standards
  • Must possess attention to detail
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English
  • Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision)
  • ITAR compliance:
    This position requires access to hardware subject to ITAR. All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
Physical Requirements
  • Required to stand or sit for long periods. May require lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Works under safe conditions with some exposure to noise or heat. Performs general housekeeping duties in the Cable Assembly area.
