Job Description:Under moderate supervision of the Manufacturing Lead and/or Production Supervisor, the Assembler B is responsible for performing a wide range of cable harness and electro-mechanical assembly tasks, from simple to complex, in accordance with work order instructions, engineering drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing process specifications. This role requires a strong focus on quality, accuracy, safety, and productivity to support production objectives.
Essential Functions:- Perform electro-mechanical assembly and inner chassis wiring using calibrated and non-calibrated hand tools in accordance with work instructions and engineering requirements.
- Assemble simple to complex cable and harness assemblies as required by production needs.
- Apply soldering skills to Military specifications or ANSI-J-STD-001 standards when required, based on assigned tasks and production demands.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly blueprints, work orders, and engineering BOMs to ensure accurate assembly and hardware installation.
- Identify hardware by description and physical characteristics and understand standard hardware installation sequences.
- Select and properly use the appropriate hand tools and equipment needed for each assembly operation.
- Move, lift, or manipulate parts and assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and established manufacturing procedures.
- Accurately record time charged to jobs performed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in support of safety and operational excellence.
- Communicate questions, concerns, and production issues promptly to supervisors or leads.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support production requirements.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly or a related manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints, engineering drawings, and written work instructions.
- Working knowledge of cable harness and electro-mechanical assembly processes.
- Understanding of hardware requirements, identification, and installation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and workmanship.
Skills:
- Ability to pass soldering tests and obtain ANSI-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification as required.
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $39,500- $73,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
