Extrusion Technician
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Extrusion Technician to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot extrusion equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient production process.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate extrusion machines according to production specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Perform start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns of extrusion equipment.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and report equipment malfunctions.
- Accurately complete production logs, quality checks, and other required documentation.
- Load raw materials and monitor material usage throughout production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and quality control standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality teams to meet production goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience operating extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.
Skills:
- Experience with plastic, rubber, or metal extrusion processes.
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Manufacturing/production facility.
- Exposure to moving machinery, heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
