CNC Machinist Job Description

Experience: Senior Level
Salary: $35 - $42 per hour

Job Details
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision components.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and first article inspections.
  • Monitor production while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
  • Make tool wear adjustments and program edits at the machine when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Work with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other specialty metals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet customer deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing complete machine setups independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls.
  • Experience machining aerospace, medical, defense, automotive, or precision components preferred.
  • Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, work holding, and cutting parameters.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to maintain close tolerances while meeting production goals.
