CNC Machinist Job Description
Experience: Senior Level
Salary: $35 - $42 per hour
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision components.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and first article inspections.
- Monitor production while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
- Make tool wear adjustments and program edits at the machine when necessary.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Work with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other specialty metals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet customer deadlines.
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing complete machine setups independently.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls.
- Experience machining aerospace, medical, defense, automotive, or precision components preferred.
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, work holding, and cutting parameters.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to maintain close tolerances while meeting production goals.
