Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
The Labor & Delivery RN provides specialized nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, immediate recovery, and stabilization. This role performs continuous maternal-fetal assessment, coordinates with OB providers and surgical/anesthesia teams as needed, and supports safe, family-centered care during childbirth. The RN is accountable for a patient group during a designated time frame and is responsible for care coordination, the nursing process, and patient/family teaching.

Pay Rate:
Local: $82/hr travel: $43/hr. (taxable) + $2,120/wk. (non-taxable) (43/53) Must be 50 miles away from permanent residence to qualify for travel rate

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess maternal and fetal status, including contractions, labor progress, pain, and fetal heart rate patterns
- Monitor for complications and promptly escalate urgent changes to the provider team
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and obstetric interventions as ordered
- Assist with induction, augmentation, vaginal delivery, cesarean readiness, and immediate postpartum recovery
- Provide labor support, comfort measures, education, and emotional support to the patient and support person
- Coordinate care with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, scrub staff, NICU, and postpartum teams
- Initiate newborn transition support and facilitate safe handoff after delivery
- Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient response accurately and in real time
Requirements
- Valid CA RN License.
- Current BLS/CPR
- 2 current supervisor references
