Choose To Make A DifferenceReporting directly to the Director of Nursing, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical sites, student placements and contractual agreements and assisting with securing new clinical affiliations for the nursing program. As directed by the Director of Nursing, oversees and manages operations associated with fostering and maintaining relationships with our clinical partners as well as the development and retention of clinical sites.
To include but not limited to making phone calls, on-site visits, conflict mediation, sharing specific course and program learning objectives, record attendance, and facilitating clinical affiliations to ensure experiences are adequate and achieve a satisfactory level of performance. Remains current in the understanding of the applicable program field, through participation in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, collaborative site visits with the Clinical Services Team, and in-service training sessions.
Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Maintains contracts between ACC and quality clinical sites, including obtaining renewal signatures, explaining unique requirements of a clinical site, and terminating contracts with clinic sites unable to provide appropriate clinical education.
- Identifies clinical sites that support the student clinical requirements.
- Assists with Identifying and developing new professional medical and nursing relationships for additional/new clinical sites.
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships with hospitals, medical offices, and clinical site directors under current contracts to the schools.
- Maintains ongoing contact with existing contracts and ensures positive long-term relationships with employers.
- Maintains accurate clinical site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates, and initiates renewal process timely.
- Evaluates insurance and liability issues related to clinical sites, and provides appropriate documentation.
- Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to clinical education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations and site evaluations.
- Advises the Director of Nursing of the general effectiveness of the clinical education portion of the program.
- Plans, coordinates, and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical facilities.
- Oversees and manages operations associated with fostering and maintaining relationships with our clinical partners as well as the development and retention of clinical sites.

- Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities and staff and ACC.
- Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student objectives in each clinical area.
- Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedures specific to the facility.
- Validates with clinical affiliate staff the effectiveness of student placement and progress in meeting mutually established objectives.
- Identifies key clinical affiliate staff to be utilized as role models/mentors.
- Attends Advisory meetings to network and derive solutions to mutual concerns.
- Ensures clinical faculty utilizes care planning time to direct students to available resources needed for clinical preparation.
- Ensures clinical faculty assess student knowledge & skill level under the direction of the Director of Nursing in order to promote safety & optimal care to patients assigned at the clinical site.
- Ensures clinical faculty provides periodic feedback of clinical performance under the direction of the Director of Nursing immediately after observation event and/or of overall student performance at mid-term and end of semester.
- Conducts required clinical site onboarding and training for department staff; improves retention and morale and performance efficiencies related to clinical site experiences.
- Participates in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas and best practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management development.
- Maintains professional appearance for position and serves as a role model, leader and mentor to the campus community.
