About This Role

The Specialty Unit Charge RN functions as a lead of the healthcare team, coordinating departmental operations to ensure quality patient care in a safe, healing environment. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to take on leadership responsibilities while supporting staff and enhancing patient care.

What You'll Do
  • Direct, review, assign, and organize the work of at least three employees, including one Registered Nurse.
  • Provide professional leadership and direction to maintain efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Coordinate departmental operations and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
  • Participate in activities related to patient flow, including admission and discharge processes.
  • Conduct audits to ensure thorough documentation of assessments and care plans.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff competencies.
  • Adjust staffing needs to assure quality patient care and safety.
  • Motivate staff to improve performance, attendance, and quality outcomes.
Requirements

Education:

  • Associate's Degree (ADN) required

Experience:

  • 1-year recent experience circulating Cardiac Surgeries or completion of a CVOR course within the past 12 months

Licenses &

Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse License in California
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association required
  • ACLS certification required
