The Opportunity

The Gummy R&D Technician is responsible for supporting the R&D Gummy product and process development following cGMP and/or SOPs. The technician works closely with the Gummy Formulation Scientist or Gummy Formulator to conduct daily R&D activities that meet customer and company requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate as part of a team or independently in all aspects, including picking and transporting raw materials, returning them to their appropriate locations, and completing raw material transactions in the ERP system.
  • Clean and sanitize machinery and equipment used in the department to prepare them for subsequent use.
  • Weigh, blend, heat, and otherwise process raw materials for new and existing formulas following cGMP and/or SOPs to comply with customer and company requirements.
  • Receive and evaluate new raw materials, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
  • Conduct raw material evaluations with direction from R&D Gummy Formulation Scientist or Gummy Formulator, evaluating physical and organoleptic discrepancies in raw materials and finished product results.
  • Maintain a clean, organized lab space at all times.
  • Prepare prototypes on the bench independently and conduct process measurements for new or existing formulas and finished prototypes using laboratory test instrumentation, recording results for future reference.
  • Support new product launches by monitoring scale‑up and commercialization runs, communicating feedback and suggestions to teams in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company guidelines, including cGMP, SOPs, and safety procedures.
  • Interface with internal departments—maintenance, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory control, quality assurance, quality control, sales, and customer service—as required.
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma and at least two years of lab and/or manufacturing experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a science field.
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness; consistently seeks ways to improve and promote quality, applying feedback to enhance performance and monitoring own work to ensure quality.
  • Proficiency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and strong familiarity with the metric system.
  • Ability to calculate and mix batches and other solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accurate typing ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and rapidly changing priorities to meet deadlines.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $20.00 – $24.00 per hour. Compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
