Sample Control Technician I​/Courier - Environmental Laboratories

About the Role

As a Full-Time Sample Control Technician I / Courier based in our Anaheim, CA laboratory, you will play a key role in handling samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results every day. This position also includes providing courier services to support our Anaheim location. You will collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working under potentially hazardous conditions (e.g., pathogens or chemicals). They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about doing work that moves things forward.

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE.

Primary location:
Anaheim, CA. May support Orange, CA as needed.
Shift: 1st Shift (10am - 6:30pm), Monday - Friday.

• Drive the company vehicle to transport supplies and samples between Onterris Orange and Anaheim locations for processing.
• Receive environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
• Perform data entry and login of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
• Label sample containers and equipment, store them in appropriate locations, and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
• Assist in sample bottle preparation, equipment prep, sample management/archiving and disposal, and focus on daily pickups/deliveries to ensure smooth transport between sites.
• Maintain the company vehicle in optimal condition.
• Participate in focus teams to improve efficiency.
• Comply with Company’s Quality Assurance Program.
• Comply with Company’s Health and Safety Plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to move and carry up to 50 lb.
• Must remain in a stationary position for the duration of the shift while performing frequent routine tasks.
• Must have a driving record that meets the company’s requirements for operating company vehicles.

• Knowledge of general laboratory practices and lab safety.
• Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written).
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Well organized with an attention to detail.

• Sitting, standing, and walking.
• Work in a stationary position for entire shift duration.
• Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 lb.
• Works in an office and/or laboratory environment.
