A Merchandise Allocation Analyst is responsible for ensuring the right products are in the right stores, in the right quantities, at the right time to maximize sales and minimize markdowns. They bridge the gap between merchandise planning, store space planning, and store-level execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Distribution: Execute initial and replenishment allocations to retail locations and e-commerce channels based on store/channel inventory levels.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze weekly sales and inventory data to identify trends, performance drivers, and lost sales opportunities. Communicating opportunities and risks to merchandising and planning.
  • Forecasting & Strategy: Develop and maintain store-level allocation strategies for new product launches, core items, and seasonal pushes.
  • Store-Level Optimization: Customize "size profiles" and store tier rankings based on specific location performance and customer demographics. Utilize min/max adjustments to maximize inventory productivity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Merchandise Buyers and Planners to align on assortment strategies, and coordinate with Distribution Center on shipment timing and inventory flow.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate and present reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) like sell-through rates, weeks of supply (WOS), and stock-to-sales ratios. Own store weekly reporting creation and distribution.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field, preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    • Advanced Excel: Mandatory proficiency in Pivot Tables, V-lookups, and complex modeling.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong retail math skills and a high degree of "analytical curiosity" to interpret complex datasets.
