Job Description
As a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC), you’ll oversee all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring accurate receipt, accounting, and stocking of merchandise. You’ll walk the store daily to scan DSD items, identify out‑of‑stock or over‑stock conditions, and partner closely with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. Regular communication with the Store Director supports inventory accuracy and promotional execution.
Your role includes monitoring donations, managing grocery and non‑perishable inventories, and maintaining a secure, clean, and organized backroom environment.
- Inventory Management
Skills:
Experience with receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory, especially in a retail or grocery environment. - Technical Proficiency:
Basic computer skills including email, Excel, and familiarity with store portals or inventory systems. - Attention to Detail:
Ability to monitor damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and process returns for credit accurately. - Organizational
Skills:
Strong ability to maintain cleanliness, security, and order in the backroom and receiving areas. - Problem‑Solving Ability:
Capable of making decisions independently and resolving issues related to inventory and deliveries. - Communication
Skills:
Effective interaction with vendors, delivery drivers, store management, and fellow associates. - Physical Capability:
Ability to lift/carry 5–50 lbs., push/pull 10–50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods. - Customer Service Orientation:
Commitment to upholding a positive customer experience through accurate inventory and store readiness.

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Compensation may include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, sick pay, PTO/vacation, paid holidays, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). This is an entry‑level position with advancement opportunities.
