- We’re seeking a strategic and trend-aware Buyer to lead assortment planning and business performance for a men’s footwear category.
- This role oversees the buying process from market analysis and product selection through vendor management, pricing strategy, and inventory optimization.
- The ideal candidate brings strong commercial instincts, sound analytical skills, and a clear understanding of customer preferences, margin goals, and emerging trends.
- This person will help shape seasonal and annual buying strategies, build assortments that align with customer demand and financial objectives, and partner closely with vendors to negotiate cost, terms, and overall value.
- They’ll also manage category budgets, monitor product performance, react to sales trends, and develop inventory plans that support healthy stock levels while minimizing excess.
- The role works cross-functionally with planning, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to support execution and drive results. It may also involve coaching or guiding more junior team members as needed.
- Qualified candidates should have 3–5 years of buying or merchandising experience in retail, ideally within footwear or a closely related category.
- Strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance customer demand with profitability are important for success in this role.
