Seeking an experienced and motivated GMC Heavy Line Technician to join our busy service department. In this critical role, you will diagnose and perform major mechanical repairs on GMC cars, SUVs, and light/medium-duty trucks. You will specialize in complex engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and drivetrain repairs. Key Responsibilities- Major Mechanical Repair:
Perform engine teardowns, rebuilds, and replacements for both GM gasoline and Duramax diesel engines. - Drivetrain & Transmission:
Diagnose, overhaul, and repair automatic/manual transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, and drive axles. - Advanced Diagnostics:
Utilize GM factory scan tools (GDS2, Tech2) and oscilloscope equipment to troubleshoot complex electrical, drivability, and network issues. - Quality Workmanship:
Execute multi-point inspections and ensure all repairs meet factory safety and performance standards. - Documentation:
Clear and accurate writing of root causes, correction steps, and precise measurements for warranty and customer-pay repair orders. - Shop Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all OSHA and dealership environmental regulations.
