GCI's Technical Accounting Manager will research technical accounting issues and document conclusions. Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports for the company, SEC, banks, and other regulatory agencies and management. Assist in stock plan administration duties including stock compensation accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS- Research applicable literature and write technical accounting memos on complex accounting issues.
- Monitor the company contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Assist in the preparation of the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and provide related support to management, the company, and external auditors related to Forms 10Q and 10K.
- Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly audited and unaudited subsidiary financial statements and reports for regulatory agencies and other external customers/regulators.
- Assist in the annual goodwill and indefinite‑lived intangible asset valuations performed by an external valuation expert.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual 401k Plan Form 5500 and Form 11-K filings and provide related support to management and the external auditors.
- Prepare the audit work papers for the external auditors and work with the auditors as needed to complete the audit.
- Assist in stock plan administration to include the filing of applicable SEC forms and performing the share‑based compensation accounting.
- Provide day to day support for employee stock compensation issues and assist in gathering employee stock grant data and submitting data to the company.
