Job ProfileThe bank is searching for a Accounting Manager who will manage the bank’s general accounting functions, general ledger account oversight, and reconciliation monitoring

Education Level- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 3 years of related accounting or bookkeeping experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 5 years of related accounting or bookkeeping experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. At least 2 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry. (preferred)
- Possess work-related experience
- Develops and implements effective general ledger transaction monitoring processes and participates in management testing of various internal financial reporting controls in conjunction with internal audit.
- Manages the core segment of the bank’s financial records by ensuring general ledger accounts, including fixed assets and depreciation expenses, projects in process accounts, and supporting software systems are reconciled and strong procedures and internal controls exist and are followed to produce accurate accounting records; work together with Reporting and Tax Unit to ensure efficient and accurate report generating process.
- Manages the Payments Unit functions including invoice processing and payments, corporate purchasing card accounting and payment actions, government agency remittances including with holdings and related filings, and payments of personal, real property, and sales taxes; manages the General Ledger Unit; maintains a strong reconciliation control environment and adherence to written procedures for account usage and resolution of discrepancies, such as out of balance conditions and errors.
- Works with bank management to resolve accounting issues; works with internal and external individuals and organizations to resolve billing or payment discrepancies; responds to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) notices and resolves internal procedural and process issues regarding applicable IRS forms and filings.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Manages the Accounting and Payments Unit.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring, disciplining, and terminating of employees.
- Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required; ability to 10-key by touch and keyboard 45 wpm required.
- Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
