Accounting Assistant
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day‑to‑day accounting operations. Responsibilities include accounts payable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and work order tracking.
Qualifications- Prior relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Eligibility for advanced classifications (Accounting Assistant II or III) for applicants with significant experience and education.
Location:
Valdez, Alaska. This is a full‑time, hourly, non‑exempt position with a starting wage of $24.95 per hour, with a scheduled increase after six months of employment and annually thereafter. The position is represented by the IBEW (membership not required). Appointment is contingent upon successful background check and drug screening (excluding marijuana).
