About this position
The General Accountant should exemplify and promote Life Med Alaska’s standards of safety, culture, and accountability. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting and administrative tasks including, but not limited to, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, mail sorting, daily bank deposits, and cash handling.
This role requires in office presence at Anchorage Headquarters.

JOB DUTIESOwnership of accounts payable including invoice processing and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.Oversee purchase order system and inventory accounts.Accounts payable, credit card, and inventory reconciliation.Responsible for cash and check deposits.Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.Support external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency and accuracy.Function as point of contact for visitors and vendors.Process and route incoming and outgoing mail.Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations.Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.
Experience: 3 years in accounting role.
