Title:

CPA – Senior Tax Manager

Client: CPA Client of MBA. Traditional Accounting/Tax/Audit Firm ($625k Annual Collections) offering audits/reviews/compilations, tax preparation, tax planning & consulting, and general accounting services across Alaska.

Classification:
Exempt / Full Time.

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 + base DOE.

Overview

Our client is searching for a Senior Manager CPA as part of a 2-3 year succession plan. The successful candidate will bring experience in audit, tax, and management, and be interested in future ownership.

Responsibilities
  • Review and manage deliverables, including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for all entity types (C Corp, S Corp, Partnerships, Fiduciaries, Non Profit, gift).
  • Review write-up work for corporations, non-profits, partnerships, and individuals, including work papers, adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, payroll, and client books and records.
  • Assist an audit team performing audits of non-profits, Native organizations, municipal entities, and other entity types.
  • Manage and monitor client deliverables and deadlines.
  • Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices; communicate with IRS and clients regarding those audits and notices.
  • Communicate directly with existing clients, firm staff (including remote locations), management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
  • Assist with business development efforts, including meeting with prospective clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, evaluating client needs, and building relationships in the community.
  • Actively participate in the year-end budgeting process for the office.
Qualifications
  • Current CPA license.
  • 6–8 years of public accounting experience with prior audit and/or tax experience.
