Chenega Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to join our Finance organization in Anchorage, Alaska. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise-wide indirect tax compliance, provide strategic tax guidance, and influence business decisions across a diverse portfolio of companies.
ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you will serve as a key advisor on state and local indirect tax matters while leading compliance and risk management activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will:
- Interpret and apply complex tax regulations and determine appropriate tax treatment for transactions.
- Resolve challenging tax issues and develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage responses to tax notices, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Provide expert guidance to finance, accounting, and operational leaders on indirect tax matters.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and translate requirements into actionable business guidance.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal control enhancements.
- Ensure audit readiness through effective documentation and compliance practices.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities by assessing indirect tax implications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license.
- 5+ years of progressive corporate tax compliance and/or financial reporting experience in public accounting or industry.
- Ability to successfully pass background and drug screening requirements.
- Public accounting experience.
- Master's degree in Accounting.
- State and local indirect tax compliance experience.
- Experience supporting complex, multi-entity organizations.
Experience with any of the following is highly valued:
- Deltek Costpoint
- Checkpoint tax research tools
- Alteryx
- BNA or similar fixed asset software
- Federal Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe product
