The Accounting Technician 1 (AT1) is primarily responsible for performing entry-level technicial accounting functions with little to no supervision. This position works collaboratively with a team of administrative and finance services (AFS) staff to ensure that the DMV administrative and fiscal needs are met, and that financial information is accurate.

This position's duties can include assisting in the processing and tracking of accounts receivable transactions, maintaining accurate records of receivables, performing daily balancing and reconciliation of financial accounts, as well as identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.

This position may also assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and provide support to the accounting team as needed, including assistance with audits, research requests, and special projects.

The AFS team is a great group of individuals that care about numbers and enjoy a busy workflow. We work collaboratively to accomplish the goals and tasks assigned to our team. Here at the DMV we also work hard at having a positive atmosphere for our employees to flourish. AFS is located at the Univeristy Center, midtown Anchorage.

We are nestled in a quiet area of the DMV headquarters and have individual desks located in small pods for easy communication and effective collaboration.
