What You Will Do:- Manage ongoing gas accounting functions, including the performance of high-level calculations and analysis and recording of costs to the general ledger.
- Provide support for the filing of GCA and rate cases.
- Manage and assist in preparing income tax provisions and schedules. Work with Tri Summit Utilities (TSU) income tax consultant when needed.
- Prepare financial reports for internal use and TSU.
- Prepare account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting. Work with staff to research and correct any reconciliation items.
- Work with internal and external auditors to provide information and answer questions. Review results of audits and make recommendations regarding implementation of changes.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls. Ensure ENSTAR's internal control procedures and financial processes are followed. Periodically review internal controls and financial processes for improvement.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Serve as key resource for technical accounting research. Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible work experience.
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience.
- Experience preparing financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by ENSTAR. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.
