The Alaska Court System is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Court Case Manager 2 (salary range 12). Under the general direction of the 2nd District Clerks of Court, this position is primarily responsible for managing civil cases in the 2nd District. The role includes providing in‑court support, preparing and processing court documents, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring courtroom procedures run efficiently.
Responsibilities• Clerk a wide variety of hearings, ensuring proceedings start on time and all log notes (oral motions, orders, testimony, and future dates) are accurately documented.
• Administer oaths, manage exhibits and witness lists, schedule hearings, and communicate with the jury office.
• Provide playback of court records when needed and prepare, process, and distribute court documents and orders.
• Update case files and databases, issue or quash warrants as directed, and troubleshoot recording equipment.
• Coordinate with judicial officers, attorneys, staff, and outside agencies to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Support the efficient processing of civil, juvenile, and probate matters, including filing complaints, petitions, appeals, and other pleadings.
• Issue summonses, warrants, and orders; monitor service deadlines; and schedule hearings and trials while maintaining accurate data in the case management system.
• Perform frontline customer service: greet the public, answer inquiries, provide notarial services, and process fees, fines, restitution, and trust payments.
• Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.
• Graduation from high school or completion of a GED certificate AND completion of a two‑year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• Ability to handle sensitive or hazardous exhibits, monitor warrants, and perform high‑stakes, accuracy‑critical tasks in a fast‑paced legal environment.
Full‑time court employees work 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
