Responsibilities
Assists the Civil and Small Claims Supervisor in overseeing daily operations, training staff, and ensuring compliance with court policies, procedures, rules, and statutes. Participates in recruitment, hiring, employee evaluation, and performance management activities. Monitors workflow quality and efficiency, provides guidance and support to staff, and helps develop and implement process improvements.
Responds to inquiries regarding civil, small claims, appeals, and post‑conviction relief procedures, and serves as a resource to court personnel throughout the Third Judicial District. Prepares reports and statistical data, and collaborates with court leadership on matters related to the administration and processing of civil and small claims cases.
Work ScheduleFull‑time court employees are scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
Qualifications- High school graduation or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Two years of office clerical work experience.
- Completion of 72 semester credit hours or 96 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college (substitutes for the required work experience on a year‑for‑year basis).
- Completion of an appropriate vocational training course such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills (substitutes for required office clerical experience on a month‑for‑month basis).
- At least two years of office clerical work experience.
- Additional office clerical experience may substitute for the required high school diploma or GED on a year‑for‑year basis.
