What You Will Be DoingUnder the supervision of the Department Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist (PS) 1/2 flex position works closely with the divisions of the Department of Administration to support their core mission and functions by performing professional procurement functions.
With direct assistance from their supervisor, the PS1 position is responsible for assisting divisions with professional procurement functions for procurements under $100,000. This position may also assist higher level Procurement Specialists with projects and solicitations. Other duties include contract administration, issuing amendments to contracts, agency leasing administration, agency vehicle and property inventories, and other duties as assigned.
As you learn the ins and outs of this position, you may be entrusted with more complex tasks. In addition to the PS1 duties, the PS2 position is responsible for performing procurements for assigned customers. Under general guidance, a PS2 may conduct formal solicitations, Invitations to Bid (ITB), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as authorized in Alaska Statutes (AS 36.30) and associated regulations and administrative guidelines contained in the Alaska Administrative Manual (AAM).
