Position Overview and Primary Duties and Responsibilities (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)Afognak Native Corporation is seeking a Compliance Analyst in Anchorage, Alaska. The Compliance Analyst supports the Company’s legal and compliance efforts through coordination of Ethics & Compliance (“E&C”) Program activities, regulatory tracking, Legal Department operations, and related administrative support responsibilities. The position assists with compliance reporting, training initiatives, disclosure tracking, hotline reporting support, compliance communications, surveys, records administration, and other activities supporting organizational compliance and operational readiness.
The role also provides operational and administrative support to the Legal Department, including assistance with organizational charts, records management, litigation support activities, departmental procedures, and general department coordination. The position works closely with attorneys, compliance personnel, subsidiary leadership, and operational departments to support timely and accurate completion of compliance-related activities and departmental initiatives.
This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel & Vice President of Compliance and works under the direction of the Senior Director of Legal Compliance. The role requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Ethics & Compliance Program Support- Coordinates the development and delivery of the annual Code Training to the workforce.
- Track Code of Ethics training completion for new hires and for the annual Code of Ethics training conducted each fall.
- Track completions of other Legal, Ethics, and Compliance–related trainings and monitoring outstanding training requirements.
- Coordinate distribution of the Code of Ethics to new hires, as needed.
- Prepare first drafts of monthly Ethics Minutes and quarterly “Let’s Get Ethical” newsletters.
- Assist with the annual collection, review, and analysis of Annual Disclosure Forms (“ADF”).
- Coordinate the collection and review of outside activity disclosures.
- Support the collection and monitoring of employee disclosures of third-party gifts.
- Track and assist with preparation of draft trend summaries and related reporting, as requested.
- Assist with preparation, distribution and reporting of annual subcontractor and E&C employee surveys.
- Maintain and update Company organizational charts.
- Manage the Legal Department calendar regarding compliance activities.
- Assist with eDiscovery and other information collection efforts related to litigation, investigations, and external data requests.
- Manage Legal safe inventory.
- Coordinate periodic review of Legal and Ethics & Compliance department policies.
- Assist the Corporate Compliance Manager & Paralegal with the management of corporate books.
- Assist with creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Legal Department.
- Prepare first drafts of routine correspondence, including selecting appropriate letterhead, applying proper business tone, and assisting with formatting, distribution, and tracking.
- Track, register, and maintain professional memberships, subscriptions, and CLEs for Legal Department personnel.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare post-travel expense reports for Legal Department personnel.
- Process credit card reconciliations and check requests.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including filing, printing, copying, shredding, scanning, faxing, distributing mail, and assisting with mail-outs as needed.
