Position: Project Coordinator 1

Project Coordinator 1 (41‑5004) Anchorage Therapeutic Courts supports both the Anchorage Felony Wellness Court and the Anchorage Municipal Wellness Court. The role coordinates daily operations and administrative functions of these therapeutic court programs and serves as liaison between the court, treatment providers, probation, attorneys, and community partners, ensuring effective communication and program coordination under the direction of the Deputy Director of Therapeutic Courts.

Responsibilities

Regular job duties include:

Project Administration
  • Coordinate daily operations of the therapeutic court; meet with judges and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of court processes.
  • Provide judicial officers information necessary to ensure efficient and effective operations of court pre‑meetings and court hearings.
  • Serve as primary contact in the court system for referrals.
  • Flag eligible cases, track incoming applicants/participants, monitor collection of collateral information, and track timelines of team decisions.
  • Process, approve or deny applications for Flexible Funds for court participants.
Project Consistency
  • Work with the Director of Therapeutic Courts and other project coordinators to improve program effectiveness, consistency, and uniformity with the goal of making it a strong and efficient part of the ongoing court/governmental system.
  • Work with court team to create and modify forms that will ensure consistency with court policies, procedures, and data collection needs.
Project Development
  • Work with various team members and partner agencies to update and revise policy and procedural manuals and other court documents as needed.
  • Assist in the development of program evaluation criteria.
  • Work with the Director of Therapeutic Courts to develop and update training plans to support the needs of the court.
  • Facilitate administrative meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas and documents to be reviewed, taking notes, and distributing minutes.
Collaboration
  • Work on community and statewide multi‑program needs (e.g., drug testing protocols, housing, vocational training and work placement) in consultation with court administrators and the Director of Therapeutic Courts.
  • Meet with partnering agencies to improve day‑to‑day operations.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and monthly statewide project coordinator teleconferences.
  • Participate in statewide planning and discussion with other project coordinators as scheduled by the Director of Therapeutic Courts.
Outreach & Education
  • Write informational materials for public distribution.
  • With supervisory approval, perform community education and outreach by making regular presentations to community entities.
Work Hours & Salary

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (one‑hour lunch). Salary range for Project Coordinator 2: $3,171.75 bi‑weekly after promotion.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college AND two years of professional or administrative experience in mental health, community development, research, the behavioral sciences, the social sciences, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • OR Six years of professional or administrative experience in mental health, community development, research, the behavioral sciences, the social sciences, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • OR Any combination totaling six years of education from an accredited college AND professional or administrative experience in the stated fields.
