Position Summary
This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children’s Services (OCS) is recruiting for a full‑time Office Assistant 1 located in Anchorage, Alaska.
ResponsibilitiesThe Office Assistant 1 will process all incoming and outgoing discovery documents, communicate with various agencies and the public by phone and email, create and organize case files, scan, file, fax, and perform other clerical duties as needed. The role also includes daily courier service to OCS off‑site offices and other agencies, and backup support for the front desk.
Qualifications- High school diploma or G.E.D.; or acceptance in full standing by an accredited college; or a Career Readiness Certificate with ACT Work Keys® scores of skill level 3 or higher in Graphic Literacy, Applied Math, and Workplace Documents.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a state vehicle if required; must be 18 years of age or older on or before the first day of employment.
Maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with the public or other agencies, providing timely and attentive service that reflects positively on our division.

Displays understanding, friendliness, courtesy, empathy, and tact while interacting with individuals from varied backgrounds, including those who are difficult or distressed.
Recognizes and verifies the correctness or error in parts of procedures or objects.
Applies knowledge of clerical equipment and software to complete routine office work independently and to professional standards.
