Office Assistant 1 Position at Anchorage Correctional Center
The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for an Office Assistant 1 position at Anchorage Correctional Center (ACC) in Anchorage, Alaska.
What You Will Be Doing:
Provide support to the on-duty shift staff in the Booking Office by performing a variety of duties including data entry and retrieval, phone support, creation of the daily in-custody court list, disseminate pertinent information to Public, Courts and other law enforcement agencies, filing, copying and faxing of documents. This position requires an extensive knowledge of policies and working standards of a correctional booking office.

This position is standard Office Assistant I in which the incumbent will learn the full range of duties involving the use of multi-line phones, screening visits, cash handling, balancing a till, distributing mail, screening mail. Though an entry level position, there is room for growth as an Office Assistant 2 and Office Assistant 3. The duty hours are Week on / Week off 75-hour work week, , with an hour lunch with the shift.
(Six of 11-hour days and One 9-hour day) Would work 3 months of days and 3 months of nights ).

Graphic Literacy (formerly Locating Information), Applied Math, and Workplace Documents (formerly Reading for Information).
