ADMINISTRATIVE & ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT(Part time/Permanent position)
Location: Eagle River, Alaska. This is not a remote position.
Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, primarily during school hours
Compensation: $21–$25 hour DOE
We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented person to assist with basic accounting, administrative work, and day-to-day support.
This isnot an advanced bookkeeping or accounting position. We are not looking fora CPA or someone with years of high-level accounting experience. Most ofthe accounting responsibilities involve straightforward Quick Books entry,accounts payable and receivable, running basic reports, and keeping financial information organized.
The otherside of the position is administrative support. We are looking for someone who can help keep things organized, follow up on outstanding items,schedule meetings, make phone calls, handle basic correspondence, organize documents, and generally help make sure things don't fall through thecracks.
The ideal person is someone who is smart, reliable, comfortable with computers, goodwith numbers, and naturally organized. Previous Quick Books or office experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
About the PositionThis is ahands-on in office support position working directly with a local business owner and helping with several different areas of the business. Some daysmay involve mostly:
Quick Books and accounting work, while other daysmay involve scheduling, research, phone calls, paperwork, or helping organize ongoing projects.
- Enter bills,expenses, payments, and other information into Quick Books
- Assist withbasic accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Run A/Raging reports and other basic Quick Books reports
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Upload,scan, file, and organize documents
- Schedule meetings and appointments
- Assist with calendar management
- Send routine emails and correspondence
- Make follow-up phone calls to vendors, customers, and other contacts
- Track outstanding items and help make sure follow-ups are completed
- Perform basic online research as needed
- Complete forms and other administrative paperwork
- Assist with ordering supplies and miscellaneous office needs
- Help with other administrative projects as they come up

Comfortable handling confidential business and financial information
Quick Books experience is preferred but not required
Previous bookkeeping, banking, mortgage, real estate, accounting, oroffice administration experience is a plus.
More than anything, we are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work. Ifyou're the type of person who notices that something hasn't been followed up on and takes care of it without having to be reminded, you'll probably do very well in this position.
ScheduleThis position is designed to be part-time and primarily during school hours,making it a good fit for someone looking for consistent weekday work without evenings or weekends.
Wecanprovide some flexibility around the exact daily schedule for the right person.
Approximately 20–25 hours per week.
$21–$25per hour depending on experience.
