Workers Compensation Technician

This recruitment is exempt from the Hiring Freeze (Administrative Order 358). ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS! The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Workers Compensation, is recruiting for a Workers Compensation Technician located in Anchorage! No Cover Letter Required! This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 12.

What You Will Be Doing:
In this position, you will assist injured workers, employers, claim administrators, attorneys, and other parties navigating Alaska's workers' compensation system. You will review documents and filings for compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and Division procedures and determine the appropriate processing action. This position requires careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to explain technical information clearly to people with varying levels of familiarity with workers' compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of journey level clerical work experience, performing tasks that require applying general programmatic and/or administrative knowledge and skill to complete assigned tasks. The required experience includes, but is not limited to, work such as Office Assistant 1 job class with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer. OR One year of advanced level clerical work experience, performing tasks that require determining administrative and/or programmatic tasks to be completed, prioritizing work, and deciding the appropriate action to be taken based on interpretation and application of the organization's programs, policies, and regulations.
