Job Description
The Alaska Court System Therapeutic Courts, are looking to hire a Project Coordinator 1 to support both the Anchorage Felony Wellness Court and the Anchorage Municipal Wellness Court. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily operations and administrative functions of these therapeutic court programs. It serves as a liaison between the court, treatment providers, probation, attorneys, and community partners to ensure effective communication and program coordination.
The position works under the direction of the Deputy Director of Therapeutic Courts.
Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement.
RegularJob Duties
Project Administration
- Coordinate daily operations of the therapeutic court; meet with judges and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the court processes;
- Provide judicial officers information necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operations of court pre-meetings and court hearings;
- Serve as primary contact in the court system for referrals;
- Flag eligible cases, track incoming applicants/participants, monitor collection of collateral information, and track timelines of team decisions;
- Process, approve or deny applications for Flexible Funds for court participants.
Project Consistency
- Work with the Director of Therapeutic Courts and other project coordinators to improve program effectiveness, consistency and uniformity with the goal of making it a strong and efficient part of the ongoing court/governmental system;
- Work with court team to create and modify forms that will ensure consistency with court policies, procedures, and data collection needs.
Project Development
- Work with various team members and partner agencies to update and revise policy and procedural manuals and other court documents as needed for the court;
- Assist in the development of program evaluation criteria;
- Work with the Director of Therapeutic Courts to develop and update training plans to support the needs of the court;
- Facilitate administrative meetings which includes scheduling, preparing agendas and documents to be reviewed, taking notes, and distributing minutes.
Collaboration
- Work on community and statewide multi-program needs (e.g., drug testing protocols, housing, vocational training and work placement) in consultation with court administrators and the Director of Therapeutic Courts;
- Meet with partnering agencies to improve day-to-day operations;
- Attend regular staff meetings and monthly statewide project coordinator teleconferences;
- Participate in statewide planning and discussion with other project coordinators as scheduled by the Director of Therapeutic Courts.
Outreach and Education
- Write informational materials for public distribution;
- With supervisory approval, perform community education and outreach by making regular presentations to community entities.
Position may be flexibly-staffed. An incumbent must have worked as a Project Coordinator 1 for at least two (2) years. Once that requirement is met, progression to the higher level may occur when the incumbent:
1) successfully completes a specified training plan;
2) meets all other specified terms of the flexible staffing agreement;
3) meets the minimum qualifications of the higher level;
4) is certified by the supervisor as capable to perform at the higher level; and
5) is approved by the Human Resources Department.
When certified, the position may be reclassified to Project Coordinator 2, salary range 18 ($3,171.75 bi-weekly).
This position is in the partially exempt service and the incumbent serves "at-will" to the hiring authority. It is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Work HoursFull-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
