Job SummaryConstruction Superintendent – Tin City, AK. Supervise the field crew on a rural, camp‑based project site. Work seven days per week, twelve hours per day, with company transportation provided from Anchorage to the project site. Direct all project activities to ensure safe, on‑time, and within‑budget completion.
Primary Responsibilities- Oversee all phases of construction fieldwork including safety, scheduling, inspections, quality control, and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate and update construction schedules; monitor project progress and adjust timelines as necessary.
- Supervise craft labor, subcontractors, and vendor personnel; ensure tasks are completed on time, within scope, and per specifications.
- Enforce strict safety protocols, conduct regular site safety inspections and meetings, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Track budget and quantities; generate required reporting for project managers and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records—daily logs, change orders, punch lists, and inspection reports.
- Organize mobilization and demobilization activities; manage equipment and tool usage.
- Communicate regularly with the Construction/Project Manager and other departments to resolve issues and coordinate activities.
- Act as the main point of contact for the project team, providing updates to project manager and remaining stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve construction delays, material shortages, or unexpected challenges.
- Assist with personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and hires when appropriate.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience supervising or directing construction crews.
- Five (5) years managing project quality and safety performance.
- Prior experience supervising projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
- Valid state driver’s license; qualified to operate a vehicle under company driving policy.
- Drug screening, driving, and background screening clearance.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with project management principles—scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management practices.
- Strong supervisory and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to read and interpret complex contract documents and operating procedures.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office.
Work is predominantly performed outside at a remote construction site. The schedule is seven days a week, twelve hours a day while on site. Travel from Anchorage to the site is provided for each rotation. The environment may involve changing weather conditions, noise, and outdoor hazards.
