The position may be in Anchorage or Juneau, depending on the location of the most qualified candidate.

What you will be doing:

As a member of the Communications team in this role, you will independently manage varied communications assignments with limited direct supervision while collaborating effectively with Department programs, coworkers, clients, and other partners.
Write, edit, and coordinate communications across print, digital, social media, and broadcast platforms.
Campaigns, educational initiatives, and outreach efforts.
Capture and produce high-quality photography and video to strengthen visual storytelling.
Manage and curate social media content, engage with the public, and implement strategies to expand the Department’s reach.

The working environment you can expect:

This Anchorage- or Juneau-based position is part of the Department’s centralized Communications team and currently works a hybrid schedule from home and an office setting, as appropriate. Because DOH is one of the State of Alaska’s largest and broadest departments, the daily environment is fast-paced, varied, challenging, and creative, requiring independent and collaborative work on both long-term projects and time-sensitive communications for audiences across the state.
