ResponsibilitiesThe Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Senior Dentist is responsible for a broad range of duties in partnering with customer-owners in the treatment of dental diseases and establishment of oral health. In addition to direct clinical care, the Senior Dentist is responsible for mentoring and coaching staff assigned to them on the Nuka System of Care.
Qualifications- SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:
- Graduate of a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Pediatric Dentists or Orthodontists must complete a CODA-accredited advanced dental education program in the appropriate specialty
- Licensed in the State of Alaska as one of the following:
- General Dentist
- Dental Specialty – Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
- Dental Specialty – Pediatric Dentistry
- Completion of an approved residency training program required for specialty dentistry positions. Must be Board certified or Board eligible.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Dentist, Pediatric Dentist, or Orthodontist OR demonstrated proficiency as a Dentist, Pediatric Dentist, or Orthodontist at SCF.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and certification relating to the scope of practice if required.
Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of SCF employment. You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment. Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 vaccination is required.
