Overview
Salary range: $135,000 to $160,000 per year
GDM is an award-winning Architecture and Engineering firm with locations in Washington, New Mexico, and Alaska. We are actively looking for a Senior or Lead Architect to join our team. This role leads architectural design delivery for federal projects and coordinates with project managers and multi-discipline teams to produce high-quality construction documents.
Daily Duties and Tasks- Apply architectural design principles and practices to building projects.
- Work with project managers to deliver complex designs.
- Perform quality control reviews of key deliverables.
- Apply state, local, and federal design requirements to federal projects.
- Perform site visits and document existing conditions.
- Develop detailed drawings and specification packages for construction.
- Serve as the architectural lead on assigned projects and coordinate architectural scope across disciplines.
- Perform conceptual, layout, and detailed design tasks and support design and construction activities.
- Exercise judgment and critical thinking skills to develop unique design solutions.
- Perform calculations and review work of drafters.
- Proactively advance workflows, systems, and project timelines.
- Attend project meetings and assist teams with resolving problems across key disciplines.
- Participate in cross-discipline project quality control reviews.
- Support and mentor architectural staff to maintain consistent production standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Active professional registration or license.
- 8 plus years of architectural experience.
- Proficient in Revit.
- Complete Arctic Design certification.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands.
- Reliable, responsive, and professional work ethic.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Integrity and accountability in day-to-day execution.
- Punctuality and continuous improvement mindset.
- LEED AP
- Master Planning
- Experience with Sketch Up, Adobe Suite, InDesign, and Navisworks
- Experience producing federal construction document and specification packages
