Position: Landscape Architecture / Landscape Designer

As Bettisworth North Architects and Planners marks its 50th year, we’re looking for a Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer to join our team in either our Anchorage or Fairbanks office
. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to a wide range of impactful projects throughout Alaska.

About the Role

As a Landscape Architect at Bettisworth North, you will work closely with landscape architectural, architectural, and interior design staff, as well as consultants, clients, and community stakeholders. Our projects span diverse sectors, including:

  • Transportation
  • Hospitality and tourism
  • Multifamily residential
  • Healthcare and education
  • Private development
  • Public safety and military

Our services include site planning, planting design, way finding, park and master planning, playground design and safety analysis, green infrastructure, construction administration, and graphic support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • 3–10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape architectural and engineering drawings and effectively coordinate with team members
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office, and Teams
  • Strong graphic and visual communication skills
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork and construction administration duties
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other office locations within Alaska
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation for site visits
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Experience with GIS
  • Planning experience or an interest in planning services
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and design of landscape architectural projects
  • Prepare and oversee production of construction documents
  • Perform zoning and code analysis
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project execution
  • Support additional project and office needs as required
