Full and Part-time Faculty

Thomas More Classical School seeks faithful, mission-driven, and skilled classroom teachers to serve as the heart of our K–6 program. TMCS teachers embrace the school’s mission to form students in Truth, Goodness, and Beauty by cultivating hearts and minds through a content-rich classical Christian education. Teachers partner with parents, model Christian virtue, and nurture each child to become a flourishing student and citizen.
Key Responsibilities Classroom Instruction & Student Formation- Lead a contained classroom (all core subjects) using a classical, liberal arts approach guided by the Hillsdale College K–12 curriculum and Program Guide.
- Use whole-group, multi-sensory methods rich in story and questions.
- Explicit phonics, grammar, and writing instruction.
- Cultivate moral imagination and virtue through literature, storytelling, and discussion of great works.
- Provide differentiated instruction while maintaining high expectations for all learners.
- Manage classroom routines, ensuring an orderly, joyful, and disciplined learning environment.
- Foster student attentiveness, respect, and habits of mind consistent with classical pedagogy
-inspire wonder. - Model scholarly behaviors – attend to the work as a model of a life-long learner.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials in alignment with TMCS’s curriculum and classical Christian philosophy – follow the scope and sequence of Hillsdale K-12 American Classical Education Program Guide.
- Assess student performance through observations, assignments, tests, and formative measures; provide timely feedback.
- Track and report academic progress to parents and administrators.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and behavior.
- Shepherd students with prayer, encouragement, correction, and love.
- Model Christian faith and virtue inside and outside the classroom.
- Pray daily for students, families, colleagues, and the Headmaster.
- Guide students in practicing responsibility, service, diligence, and humility.
- Support student formation through TMCS initiatives such as the House system, assemblies, and service opportunities.
- Communicate clearly, warmly, and consistently with parents regarding student progress, needs, and successes.
