Overview
The UAA Department of Recreation is currently accepting applications for Sales Associates. The department is located in the AVIS Alaska Sports Complex and supports the academic and athletic goals of all UAA students by providing opportunities for physical development on the Anchorage campus.
Responsibilites- Process basic math computations and accurately account for money received and tickets sold.
- Use a calculator and cash register.
- Reconcile cash receipts.
- Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain attention to detail.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Assist in emergency protocols.
- Ensure proper food handling.
- Apply problem‑solving skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
None. No prior experience is required for this position.
Required- Food handling certification or completion of certification within 30 days of the job start date (required for concession workers).
- PCI compliant within 30 days of the job start date.
- UA Safe Title IX training completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- Behavior Based Safety (BBS) training completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- Workplace Harassment Prevention training completed within 30 days of the job start date.
- Student enrollment: enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or, for employment between semesters, having successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrating plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester.
- Students may not work hours that interfere with class attendance.
- Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
- AED, CPR and First Aid certification.
Student Assistant 2 – $12.03/hour. This position is located at the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. Students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week while taking classes; for employment between semesters, up to 40 hours per week may be permitted if the above enrollment criteria are met. This is a pooled position, and applications are reviewed as needed.
