All Covenant House Alaska program staff work as advocates and allies for youth experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and who are at increased risk for human trafficking.

The Program & Engagement Coordinator is an organizational and operational role responsible for overseeing the coordination, administration, and engagement tracking of all youth-focused programs within the Learning Management System (LMS) and ETO. This position serves as the central point of contact for program logistics, calendar management, participant engagement, and system administration across the organization’s youth program portfolio.

Grounded in trauma-informed, youth-centered practice, the Coordinator ensures that young people understand their options, feel empowered to choose what fits them best, and experience a welcoming on‑ramp into Covey Academy offerings. This position will work closely with the Work Ready Alaska Program and the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator. This position will work closely with program facilitators, educators, and leadership to ensure seamless program delivery and an exceptional experience for all youth participants.

Functions

Program Initiatives

  • Development, maintenance, and distribution of comprehensive youth activity calendars, scheduling coordination, and event logistics across all programs
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the Covenant House mission, philosophy, history, tradition(s) and the underlying values upon which the Agency is founded to the staff, students, and the community we serve.
  • Provide direct services to students.
  • Actively participate in all staff meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with the general public, including placement agencies and families of the students we serve.
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to the job and the students we serve.
  • Act as an advocate for students and support their interactions with staff, partners, and other students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Learning Management System Administration

  • Serve as the primary LMS administrator for all youth program content, user accounts, and system configuration.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain digital curriculum materials, resources, and multimedia content within the LMS.
  • Manage user enrollment, access permissions, and profile configurations for youth participants, facilitators, and program staff.
  • Generate and analyze LMS usage reports, completion rates, and engagement metrics to inform program improvements.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with IT support for escalated system concerns.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all participant records within the LMS.

Program Coordination & Calendar Management

  • Develop, publish, and maintain comprehensive Youth Calendars coordinating all program activities, sessions, special events, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for program delivery including room reservations, material preparation, and resource distribution.
  • Facilitate communication between program facilitators, participants, families, and organizational leadership regarding schedules and updates.
  • Track participant attendance, engagement levels, and completion status across all assigned programs.
  • Monitor program enrollment capacity and maintain waitlists as needed.
  • Coordinate cross-program initiatives and ensure activities align to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for youth participants and families regarding program information, requirements, and resources.
  • Monitor participant engagement metrics and identify opportunities to improve retention and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate recognition and milestone tracking for the Gold Star Program, ensuring timely acknowledgment of participant achievements.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes for new program participants.
  • Collect, document, and relay participant feedback to program leadership for continuous improvement.
