Simulated Participants work with College of Health students as they learn and develop examination, interviewing, and therapeutic skills in simulated clinical encounters. This role provides real patient scenarios to students, supports faculty and simulation educators, and contributes to a comprehensive training program across Alaska.
ResponsibilitiesExecute standardized patient roles accurately and consistently. Participate in simulations at multiple campus sites, including Anchorage, Bethel, Dillingham, Fairbanks, Homer, Juneau, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Kotzebue, Mat‑Su, Nome, Petersburg, Sitka, and Valdez.
Qualifications- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including use of web‑conferencing applications.
- Ability to follow directions from faculty and simulation educators to consistently portray a case scenario.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with students, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
- Accurate and consistent completion of checklists.
- Ability to monitor other standardized patients for quality assurance and communicate simulation inconsistencies to faculty and staff.
- Acceptance of ongoing feedback from supervisors/trainers and incorporation into case simulation.
- Constructive feedback provision to learners and colleagues.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to perform job functions.
Minimum 18 years of age.
