Seawolf Food Pantry Program Assistant

The Seawolf Food Pantry Program Assistant will support the daily operations, outreach, and evaluation activities of the campus food pantry. This role is ideal for a student interested in food security, nutrition, public health, social services, or nonprofit management. The assistant will help ensure that the pantry is welcoming, efficient, and student-centered.

To thrive in this role, the applicant should have strong communication skills to effectively engage with community partners and demonstrate keen attention to detail, particularly when completing tasks such as data entry and inventory management. Experience in food security initiatives, community service, social services, or nonprofit environments is preferred, as is relevant coursework or a background in nutrition, public health, sociology, or student support services.

The candidate should have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without a reasonable accommodation).

• Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
• Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters;
• Have at least a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA);
• An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage.

This is a part-time, Student Assistant 2 position with a starting pay of $17.19/hour.

This recruitment is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
