The School of Education (SOE) is seeking applications for temporary, non-credit adjunct assignments.
This is an adjunct labor pool for temporary, part-time, non-benefited positions for non-credit assignments. Adjunct positions are on a semester appointment basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of an appointment nor does having worked one semester guarantee an offer of employment in the following semester. Applicants are hired based on the departments' needs for that semester.
Salary is based on the number of previous semesters of teaching experience within the University of Alaska.
To thrive in this role, applicants must have expertise and experience relevant to teaching in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Language and Literacy Education, Special Education, or Teaching and Learning.
Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Computer skills.
- Knowledge of content, curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials to support instruction.
- Ability to successfully build and foster relationships with colleagues, administration, parents, and school communities based on professional respect.
- Ability to share techniques and strategies for collecting and using data in the classroom.
- Ability to coach and motivate educators to grow in their content and instructional capacities.
